Our Program

The mission of Mingus Mountain Youth Treatment Center is to provide a safe, healthy, therapeutic environment where clients can achieve hope and healing on their journey to living a healthier emotional and physical lifestyle.

Mingus Mountain Youth Treatment Center (MMYTC) has completed its three-year certification in the Sanctuary Model™, a theory-based, evidence supported organizational and clinical framework that promotes a trauma-responsive culture of care. As part of our commitment to being trauma-responsive to our residents, our staff and our community, the Sanctuary Model™ serves as the overarching model that guides our service delivery and organizational processes at MMYTC. The Sanctuary Model™ focuses on developing shared knowledge, shared values, shared language and shared practices with a trauma-focused emphasis woven into all programming areas.

Many clients to whom we provide care have experienced complex trauma during their early childhood. Our treatment team is specially trained to apply evidence-based treatments to support our clients within our safe, structured, and nurturing environment. An emphasis on family therapy fosters successful reunification with families. Our therapeutic group homes give clients the opportunity to practice their skills in less restrictive treatment settings by living in nearby communities and earning part time jobs if they wish, all while continuing their treatment and education on campus or in our accredited satellite education site.
